(Pocket-lint) – Montblanc has launched a new watch to expand its existing portfolio of Summit-branded smartwatches, and this one is potentially quite exciting, if only because it’s finally another watch to feature the running the latest Wear OS 3.0 software from Google.

In a press release, the company announced that this luxury smartwatch “is powered by the latest version of Wear OS by Google,” making it only the second watch to be powered by the software after the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4.

We’re still waiting for the software to land on Fossil’s latest models, of course, and the Google Pixel Watch that was teased during the company’s I/O keynote earlier this year.

As you would expect from Montblanc, the watch features very high quality design details and materials. Each version of the watch comes with a handcrafted titanium watch case, available in three different color options: black, silver, or black and silver in contrast. They also each come with leather and rubber straps.

Depending on which model you buy, you’ll either get a black calfskin strap and blue rubber strap, black calfskin and black rubber strap, or “Montblanc Extreme 3.0 British Green” and black rubber strap.

As a tribute to its history, Montblanc has equipped the watches with highly detailed dials designed to look like its classic mechanical watches such as Geosphere and Boheme.

Unfortunately, there aren’t many details in terms of specs, but we do know that the watch is powered by the Snapdragon 4100+ wearable processor and is capable of measuring heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, daily steps and sleep phases throughout the day. You can even use it to track a range of different workouts.

The Montblanc Summit 3 will be available in stores from July 15 for a whopping 1,250 euros, making it significantly more expensive than the usual Wear OS watches.
