(Pocket-lint) – Succession returns. A season 4 has begun production and we’ll finally find out what the Roy kids will do after being tricked out of Waystar RoyCo’s stock after attempting their own coup.

But when will it air, and what else can we expect from the latest season of one of the hottest shows on the planet?

Here’s what we know so far about Succession season 4.

Season 4 sequel release date

Succession was renewed for a fourth season late last year, but considering production only started in June 2022 — as the series’ official Twitter account confirms — we won’t see Succession season 4 until late 2022, at least.

It’s worth noting that season three premiered in October 2021 – after a two-year absence due to the pandemic.

So if we were to guess, we think it’ll be part of HBO’s fall planning this year and could come back in October.

How and where to watch Succession Series 4

Succession is an HBO Original and airs on HBO Max in the US. A subscription to HBO Max costs $14.99 per month with no ads (or $9.99 per month with ads).

Since HBO Max isn’t available in territories outside of the US, deals have been made with local broadcasters. For example, Succession is on Sky in the UK – like other HBO exclusives.

You will need a Sky Q, Sky Glass, BT TV or Virgin Media subscription that covers access to Sky Atlantic to watch the show. Alternatively, you can also pay for the Now Entertainment membership to stream across multiple devices via the service.

What’s the best streaming device for your TV? Our top pick is the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max. Also great are the Google Chromecast with Google TV, the Roku Express 4K, the Apple TV 4K, and the Amazon Fire TV Stick.

How many episodes does Succession season 4 have?

It has been confirmed that Season 4 of Succession will have 10 episodes – just like Seasons 1 and 2.

Season 3 is the only one that differs, having been cut to nine episodes due to filming following pandemic guidelines.

What to Expect in Succession Season 4?

HBO has released an official synopsis of Succession Season 4: “The sale of media conglomerate Waystar Royco to tech visionary Lukas Matsson is drawing closer,” it reads.

“The prospect of this harrowing sale provokes existential angst and family cleavage among the Roys as they anticipate what their lives will be like once the deal is finalized. A power struggle ensues as the family weighs a future in which their cultural and political clout is severely curtailed.”

How and where can I find out about past seasons of Succession?

There are a number of ways to catch up on the first three seasons of Succession.

Seasons 1, 2 and 3 are available on-demand to HBO Max subscribers in the US, Sky and Now subscribers in the UK.

Alternatively, all three seasons can be purchased online through a variety of digital video services including Prime Video, Apple TV and Google Play TV & Movies. You can buy individual episodes or entire seasons.

If you’d rather own a physical disc, Succession Season 1 is available on Blu-ray. However, seasons 2 and 3 never made it onto the BD disc release, although you can get all three bundled into a single DVD package.

Will there be a 5th season of Succession?

Whether a fifth season of Succession is planned cannot yet be said. It was not confirmed at the time of writing.
